1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

8 small corn or flour tortillas

1 cup green cabbage, finely shredded

1/2 cup red cabbage, finely shredded

1/2 cup carrots, grated

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped

Juice of 1 lime

1 avocado, sliced (for topping)

Optional: hot sauce, for serving

Prepare the Shrimp: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss until all the shrimp are evenly coated with the spice mixture.

    Cook the Shrimp: Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes without moving them, allowing them to sear properly until they turn pink and opaque on one side. Flip the shrimp and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until they are fully cooked but not rubbery. Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the shrimp to a plate; set aside.

      Make the Fresh Slaw: In a large bowl, combine shredded green cabbage, red cabbage, grated carrots, and chopped cilantro. Drizzle lime juice over the mixture, adding a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Toss gently but thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly mixed.

        Warm the Tortillas: In the same skillet used for cooking the shrimp, or alternatively in a microwave, warm the tortillas until they are soft and pliable, about 30 seconds per side in the skillet or 15-20 seconds in the microwave.
