Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 cup broccoli florets

1 red bell pepper, julienned

1 cup snap peas

2 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup homemade or store-bought teriyaki sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for added thickness)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: In a medium-sized bowl, gently toss the thinly sliced beef with the cornstarch (if using). This step helps to create a tender, juicy texture when cooked.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or wok, pour in the vegetable oil and heat over medium-high flame until shimmering.

Cook the Beef: Add the coated beef to the pan in a single layer. Allow it to sear undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until browned on one side. Flip the beef slices and continue cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until just cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, introduce the broccoli florets, red bell pepper, and snap peas. Stir-fry these vibrant vegetables for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender yet still crisp.

Incorporate Aromatics: Push the sautéed vegetables to one side of the pan and add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the clearest part of the skillet. Sauté for approximately 30 seconds or until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.

Bring It All Together: Return the beef to the skillet and pour the teriyaki sauce and soy sauce over the mixture. Toss everything together, ensuring that the beef and vegetables are evenly coated in the flavorful sauces. Allow the mixture to cook for an additional minute to meld the flavors.

Add Finishing Touches: Drizzle the sesame oil over the stir-fry, and give it a final toss to ensure even distribution before removing from heat.

Serve and Garnish: Serve the delicious stir-fry over a generous portion of cooked rice or noodles. For an appealing presentation, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top as garnishes.
