Ingredients

2 cups cooked pasta (penne or fusilli are great choices)

2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded

1 cup broccoli florets, steamed until tender

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

Zest of 1 lemon (about 1 tablespoon)

Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tablespoons)

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for topping)

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (a blend of oregano, basil, and thyme)

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for a crunchy topping)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, steamed broccoli, and halved cherry tomatoes. Mix gently to distribute the ingredients evenly.

In a skillet over medium heat, pour in the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until the garlic becomes fragrant and golden. Be careful not to burn it.

To the skillet, add the lemon zest, lemon juice, heavy cream, and dried Italian herbs. Stir the mixture well and allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes to blend the flavors.

Stir in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce, mixing until the cheese melts and creates a creamy consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Pour the creamy lemon sauce over the pasta mixture in the bowl, and toss everything together until all ingredients are evenly coated.

Transfer the complete mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well and sprinkle this topping evenly over the pasta bake for added crunch and flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dish is bubbling.

Once done, remove the dish from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow it to set.

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and an additional sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, if desired, to enhance presentation and flavor.

                        Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 6
