Ingredients

1 cup warm water (110°F to 115°F)

2 teaspoons granulated sugar

2 teaspoons active dry yeast

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

Activate Yeast: In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water and granulated sugar. Gently sprinkle the active dry yeast over the water, ensuring all the yeast is submerged. Allow it to sit undisturbed for about 5-10 minutes, until it becomes frothy and bubbly, indicating that the yeast is active.

Mix Dough: In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center of the flour mixture, then pour in the frothy yeast mixture along with melted unsalted butter. Using a wooden spoon or your hands, stir the mixture until a dough begins to form.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, or until it feels smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle a little more flour as needed.

First Rise: Lightly grease a large bowl with oil or cooking spray and place the dough inside. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and set it in a warm, draft-free area. Allow the dough to rise until it has doubled in size, which will take approximately 1 hour.

Prepare Herb Butter: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, garlic powder, dried basil, dried parsley, dried oregano, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated, creating a flavorful herb-infused butter.

Shape Breadsticks: Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release any trapped air. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out into a rectangle approximately 1/2 inch thick. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the rolled dough into strips about 1 inch wide.

Form the Breadsticks: Individually take each strip of dough and gently twist it several times before placing it onto a greased baking sheet. Repeat this process until all dough strips have been twisted and placed on the sheet.

Second Rise: Cover the twisted breadsticks loosely with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes. This will help them become fluffy and tender.

Preheat Oven: While the breadsticks are rising, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), ensuring it's hot and ready for baking.

Bake: After the second rise, generously brush the tops of the breadsticks with the prepared herb butter mixture, making sure to coat each one well. Sprinkle coarse sea salt evenly over the tops. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and enticingly aromatic.

Finish and Serve: Once baked to perfection, remove the breadsticks from the oven. Brush them with any remaining herb butter for extra flavor. Garnish with finely chopped fresh parsley for a vibrant finish, serve warm, and enjoy the delightful taste of your Garlic Bliss Herb Butter Breadsticks!
