Ingredients

4 medium apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled, cored, and cut into cubes)

2 tbsp maple syrup

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

1/4 tsp sea salt

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup almond flour

1/3 cup chopped walnuts

1/4 cup melted coconut oil

2 tbsp brown sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier choice)

1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

1/4 cup honey or agave nectar

1 cup vanilla yogurt (dairy or non-dairy)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, mix together the diced apples, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.

Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9x9-inch baking dish, spreading it out uniformly.

In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour, chopped walnuts, melted coconut oil, brown sugar, and shredded coconut. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Evenly distribute the oat mixture on top of the apples in the baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping achieves a golden brown, crunchy texture.

While the crisp is baking, prepare serving bowls by placing a dollop of vanilla yogurt at the bottom of each.

After the apple crisp has baked, allow it to cool for a few minutes before spooning the warm mixture over the yogurt.

If desired, drizzle with honey or agave nectar for an extra touch of sweetness.

Serve warm and savor your delightful apple crisp bowls!
