Ingredients

For the Dough:

2 cans (16.5 oz each) refrigerated flaky biscuit dough

½ cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Apple Mixture:

2 medium-sized apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced

½ cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon lemon juice

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the Caramel Sauce:

1 cup granulated sugar

6 tablespoons unsalted butter

½ cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

Prepare the Oven and Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a 10-inch bundt pan with cooking spray or melted butter to prevent the monkey bread from sticking.

Mix the Sugars and Spices: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Stir well to ensure the cinnamon is evenly distributed, and set the mixture aside.

Cut the Biscuit Dough: Open both cans of biscuit dough. Using a sharp knife or kitchen scissors, cut each biscuit into quarters. Roll each quarter into a small ball using your hands.

Coat Biscuit Balls: In a large mixing bowl, combine the biscuit balls with the melted butter, tossing them gently to coat. Next, add the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss again until all pieces are evenly coated.

Prepare the Apple Mixture: In another bowl, combine the diced apples with the packed brown sugar, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon. Stir until the apples are well coated with the mixture.

Layer the Bundt Pan: Begin layering your bundt pan by placing a portion of the coated biscuit balls at the bottom. Follow this layer with some of the apple mixture. Continue layering in this manner until all biscuit balls and apple mixture are used, finishing with a layer of biscuit balls on top.

Bake the Monkey Bread: Place the bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.

Make the Caramel Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and butter. Stir constantly until the mixture becomes melted and bubbly. Carefully add the heavy cream while continuing to stir. Let it boil for about 1 minute, then remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt for flavor.

Drizzle with Caramel: Once the monkey bread has cooled slightly but is still warm, generously drizzle the homemade caramel sauce over the top, allowing it to cascade down the sides for a beautiful finish.

Serve and Enjoy: Gently pull apart the delicious monkey bread pieces, each filled with sweet apples and a gooey caramel drizzle. Serve warm and savor this delightful treat with friends and family!
